Compensação

The third stage of the Carbon Neutral Program is the offsetting of all our emissions that cannot be avoided. For this, in 2007 and 2008, we selected projects capable of totally compensating for the volume of CO₂e emitted by our operations.

We emphasized the search for projects endowed with effective mechanisms for proven reduction/removal of GHG emissions, aligned to the Natura Essence and which take into account socio-environmental benefits that are locally relevant. Generation of income, conservations of biodiversity, sustainable use and innovative profile are characteristics that can be observed among the selected projects.

Project Evaluation

Since 2007, we have employed a tool for the selection and qualification of offset projects. The most important points of the process of selection are the socio-environmental profile and innovative potential of the proposals. For the construction of this analysis, we have built upon research and advanced tools used throughout the world, adapting them to our needs and strategies.

The evaluation is made up of four main themes (GHG, Social, Environmental and Innovation). It uses 17 criteria and is divided in three filters: critical, minimal and additional.
