New Natura’s magazine
One of the reduction projects that stands out in 2009 is the reformulation of Natura’s magazine. With the new design, more than 60 pages were cut in relation to the previous version and the recycled paper was exchanged for lighter weight coated paper, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
The decision to change was supported technically by studies that are based in the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. The change created an annual reduction of 2% of the company’s emissions, around 4,500 tons of CO2e, and a reduction of 32% in the environmental impact caused by the magazine, taking into consideration everything starting with the extraction of raw materials up to the disposal of waste.
